“All-inclusive” sounds simple until you start looking at what you will actually need during a jeep trip. Does it include the jeep? What about fuel, hotels, meals, airport transfers or entrance fees? And what are you still expected to pay for yourself?
There is no single list that applies to every jeep tour. What is included depends on the company, the itinerary and the package you book. So before comparing prices, it is worth looking beyond the words “all-inclusive” and checking what is actually part of the trip.
What would you normally expect to be included?
For a fully organized jeep tour, the main parts of the trip are usually arranged together rather than leaving you to book each one separately.
The vehicle is one of the obvious ones. A self-drive jeep tour may include the 4X4 rental, with fuel covered for the planned trip (the type of vehicle and rental conditions can vary).
You may also have a guide leading the group, along with the equipment needed for the journey. On our tours, for example, the jeep management team includes a guide, rescue equipment, first aid equipment, a picnic and coffee kit, and a radio for each jeep.
Accommodation is another part that can be included. Depending on the tour, the package may cover the hotels and overnight stays described in the itinerary. Meals can also be included, but you should check whether the package provides full board, half board or something else rather than assuming every meal is covered.
Does all-inclusive mean everything from the moment you land?
Not necessarily.
Some tours include flights and airport transfers, while others may start once you arrive at your destination. This is one of the reasons you should read the actual tour inclusions rather than relying on the label.
For example, our all-inclusive tours can be arranged with flights, hotels, SUV rentals, guides and the logistics needed for the trip. We also arrange airport pickup and the vehicle when you arrive, so the group can start according to the planned itinerary.
Other practical costs can also be included, such as fuel, highway tolls and entrance fees to sites and natural reserves (the exact inclusions depend on the tour you choose).
That is quite different from simply booking a jeep for a day and arranging everything else yourself.
What is usually not included?
This is the part people often miss.
Even when a tour is described as all-inclusive, there can still be expenses that remain outside the package. Personal spending is an obvious example. Drinks that are not part of the included meals, souvenirs and other personal purchases are normally your responsibility.
Travel and personal belongings insurance may also be separate. On our tours, suitable travel insurance is not included in the tour price. The same applies to deductible reimbursement insurance for potential damage to the jeep.
Tips for the guide can also be separate, as can activities that are not specifically listed in the tour inclusions.
So “all-inclusive” should not be read as “you will never spend another dollar.” It means the main costs and arrangements listed for that particular package have been brought together.
Why does this matter when comparing jeep tours?
Imagine finding one tour at a lower price and another that costs more. The cheaper one may look better until you start adding the hotel, vehicle rental, fuel, meals, entrance fees, transfers and other costs yourself.
The higher price may already include most of these things.
This is why comparing the final price alone can give you the wrong impression. Look at what you are actually getting for that price.

Ask what the price actually covers.
Check whether flights are included, which type of vehicle you will receive, whether fuel is covered, what meals are provided, where you will stay, whether entrance fees are included and how airport transfers are handled.
If you are driving the jeep yourself, check the rental conditions as well. For our tours, drivers need to meet the vehicle rental requirements, and an international credit card is required for each driver for additional charges or possible vehicle damage. The current rental conditions also specify a minimum driver age of 24.
It is much better to know these details before arriving in Israel than to discover an additional requirement at the rental counter.
